Checklist

Transmission readiness checklist for broadcast operations teams.

Use this checklist to prepare TX windows, routes, signal paths, contribution feeds, monitoring, failover, contacts, risk notes, and go/no-go status before content or live feeds move to air.

Transmission risk

The final mile needs a current operational record.

Transmission failures often come from missing confirmation rather than missing effort. BroadSync gives teams a way to keep technical status, schedule readiness, contacts, and risk in one place.

Route confirmation

Keep primary route, backup route, fibre, satellite, IP, bonded cellular, return feed, and endpoint status visible.

Monitoring and failover

Confirm monitoring ownership, alternate playout paths, failover state, alarms, test results, and recovery notes.

Technical contacts

Attach engineering, MCR, venue, vendor, uplink, downlink, platform, and escalation contacts to the operation.

Decision record

Capture risk severity, line-up status, rehearsal notes, go/no-go decision, sign-off owner, and incident history.

Checklist

A practical readiness sequence teams can use before broadcast.

Use this as a starting point for stronger operational discipline across content, scheduling, technical, approval, and delivery workflows.

  1. 01Confirm the transmission window, schedule reference, service/channel, destination, and expected content or feed.
  2. 02Verify content readiness, MCR handover, playlist readiness, or live contribution readiness before TX checks begin.
  3. 03Confirm primary signal path, route, delivery endpoint, contribution feed, and return feed where applicable.
  4. 04Confirm backup route, failover method, alternate playout path, DR copy, and recovery contact.
  5. 05Check encoders, decoders, routers, switchers, intercom, comms, monitoring, compliance recording, and logging systems.
  6. 06Record line-up status, rehearsal status, path test results, latency issues, audio/video checks, and known faults.
  7. 07Attach technical contacts, vendor contacts, venue contacts, MCR contacts, escalation owners, and decision makers.
  8. 08Score open risks and assign an owner, due time, and operational impact to each unresolved blocker.
  9. 09Record go/no-go status and final sign-off before the transmission window.
  10. 10Log incidents, late changes, overrides, and post-event notes for reporting and future readiness templates.
